Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Hi friends!
I thought that I’d document another day’s worth of eats, just like I did last week. Two in a row! I aptly named this post Trainer Eats because I’m sharing yesterday’s meals and snacks with you all, and Tuesdays are a busy training day for me; I teach back to back to back classes in a row – TRX, Spin, and TRX, directly followed by training a client in the morning. It’s quite a busy and slightly chaotic morning! But I love it
I woke up and immediately came down stairs, made a French Press of Novo Coffee, some of my favorite local beans and cracked open my devotions. Once my coffee was done, I made what could just be the world’s ugliest omelet, alongside half a toasted Ezekiel English muffin with butter.
No, that’s not mold in my omelet – it’s red cabbage. Inside my 3-egg omelet was roasted red cabbage and a little cheese.
After breakfast, I worked on emails for a bit before packing up and getting ready for my first class – TRX. After TRX, indoor cycling, TRX, and a client, I hopped in my car to drive to FedEx to ship a package out. On the way, I inhaled a Perfect Bar.
Best bar ever. It’s flipping perfect, and one of my favorite on-the-go snacks.
When I got home, I made a green smoothie. It’s not my usual go-to combination, but the flavor was still pretty good – coconut/almond milk, Healthy Skoop protein powder, A-Game, a crap ton of spinach, mango, banana, and cottage cheese.
Then I headed out on the town with my parents for the afternoon. We shopped and stopped at a brewery – Avery, one of my very favorites. I’m having such a great time with them here!
It was raining, so we just kind of putzed around town, shopping and making a stop at Celestial Seasonings.
KIND photo-op slash how-cute-are-my-parents?
In between outings, I snacked on the remainder of some delicious KRAVE beef jerky (thanks, Christina!) – another favorite snack on-the-go!
And then some coconut cashews that I picked up from Trader Joe’s (OMG)
My dad liked them too
And then before we headed back home, we stopped at my all-time favorite brewery in Boulder, Avery:
My parents are LIGHT beer drinkers, and so far haven’t been fond of Colorado beer (I know, I’m skeptical of every last taste bud of theirs, too) but – they found one they loved and even took home from Avery! White Rascal FTW. I, however, loved their new pumpkin beer, GORED.
Then we headed home, relaxed a bit – I took Niko for a walk, emailed some online clients back, and did some laundry before we all headed out for Indian food. Apparently, my parents have absolutely zero options for Indian food down in Florida, and had their minds set on it when we mentioned there was a place near us that we heard was pretty good. So we all headed to Gurkhas in Boulder. I had lamb curry and loads of naan bread.
It was SO good. We also had some kind of fried appetizer, which was also tasty. We all followed it up with dessert, because the chef felt compelled to bring some for our table, on him. Score!
Delish. I was stuffed. We will definitely be going back to Gurkhas!
When we all got back home, we played a game of euchre and called it a night. I’ve felt so tired lately!
Now it’s time to hit the gym for a strength workout. Up later is a hike and maybe some trail running Have a great day, guys.
What’s your favorite on-the-go snack?
Smoothie lovers: what’s your go-to combination right now?
yay, you got your krave!! i can’t wait to hear which ones you liked!
Loving them all so far! Can’t wait to break into the pineapple one 🙂 You should be getting your KIND package soon! 😉
Indian food is the best! My current obsession is butter chicken.
My dad had never tried samosas before. I ordered some for him, and when they first arrived at the table he was suspicious. When he tried them he was won over though – he really liked them.

Yes! They’re so good! Ohh, chopped nuts – that would be a little crunchy surprise in the straw! I might have to try.
On the go snacks: bars (storebought or homemade) or jerky is a favourite one of mine too. My go-to smoothie has been the same forever – frozen banana, chocolate whey protein, peanut butter, unsweetened almond milk and spinach. If it ain’t broke!

I always forget about making it chocolate. I just always buy vanilla protein powder – guess I could add some cocoa!
I am loving nectarines this time of year or a Kind bar…I usually use them as fuel before a workout! I also wouldn’t say no to a cookie or ice cream 😉
Ha! To-go ice cream..the best kind 😉
