Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Good morning, loves!
I hope your week is going well. Mine’s off to a great start because I joined my team and played in my first volleyball game since my back injury!! I was a little rusty, but it’s ok because it was a TON of fun. I’m so pumped to be back in the game this season.
This January has been a busy one with fitness and nutrition coaching with my online clients. I work individually with every one of my VIP one-on-one clients with their nutrition plans, and many of my group coaching clients.
I take a macros-based approach to my nutrition coaching, but we also implement nutrient-rich/micronutrient strategies. You might have heard of IIFYM or if it fits your macros. While my approach is different from most of what you’ll see if you search the #iifym hashtag, I do like aspects of that approach, as it doesn’t focus on foods that are “good” or “bad.” Thusly, eliminating the feeling of failure or imperfection if one eats a not “clean food” or a food that’s not on their meal plan.

Only a handful of my clients track macronutrient grams, but all of them have a focus on consuming appropriate amounts of each macro for their goals. While there are many “macronutrient calculators” online, they aren’t customized to the individual – and this. is. huge. We don’t all perform, see results, and feel our best on the exact same macronutrient split, and there are quite a few factors that come into play.
While I don’t know anything about your personal biochemistry or metabolism (unless you’re an ongoing client who is reading this :)) there are other, more tangible factors, that come into play. That’s what this guide is about – using those tangible variants to help determine your macronutrient split.
Before you download the guide, that this is only a starting place. Always consult your physician and use your best judgment before making any diet or exercise changes.

Paige, Interesting strategy to track your micronutrients. Do you think most people lack the knowledge or understanding of why micronutrients are important? Is that perhaps why they refuse to track them? Or is it just because it’s a tricky thing to track?
