Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Hey there, friends! How was your weekend?
Before I get into my weekend, I’m SO pumped to announce that sign ups for my next online boot camp that starts November 2nd are officially OPEN! This boot camp is for those interested in leaning out, gaining muscle, and looking for a new challenge in your workouts .
There will be 5 workouts a week – 3 strength and 2 conditioning – and I’ll be sending out new weekly workouts every Sunday. It will be challenging, but fun and modifiable for all fitness levels, and the workouts will take 30-45 minutes . If you’re motivated, looking to lean out, participate in a fun and challenging program, and get results, this 6-week online boot camp could be a great fit for you —
We were lucky to have some absolutely fantastic weather here in Colorado. We’ve been near record breaking highs this entire month, but it’s still cool enough for sweaters in the mornings and evenings.
Friday after a morning of online client updates for me, Shane and I spend the entire afternoon at the Denver Design Center with our designer for our house. People are sometimes still pretty astonished that we still haven’t bought furniture (aside from my office, our bed, our dining room table and chairs, and a couple other pieces) for our new house. And I’m stretching the word ‘new’ now, because construction was finalized and we moved in in April. BUT…it just took us a couple hiccups (coming up with a plan of action, hiring our first designer who didn’t work out, working with the new one, etc.) BUT–I’m happy to say that we’ve finally ordered furniture for our great room!
We’re fully in GSD mode, so we’re going to tackle the rest of the rooms when I get back from Florida – I’m leaving on Tuesday. Have you ever moved into a new house and had to fill it up from scratch? It’s tougher than it seems! Especially when you came from a little condo.
Anyway, that wiped us, so afterward, I had to head to a doctor’s appointment, grabbed a growler of Kombucha from Rowdy Mermaid, and we ordered in Indian food, complete with two different dishes, rice, naan, and samosas.
Saturday, I awoke bright and early to get in a solid two-three hours of work in before meeting Lauren for a hike. I busted out two training plans I’d started earlier for two new clients this week, and finished the rest of my client updates, as well as got back to a few ladies about the upcoming boot camp. It felt nice to get my work done, and then it was time for FUN!
I met Lauren and her friend Ashley at Chautauqua around 9:15 for a casual hike, and then we headed to the Farmer’s Market, where I got yet another growler of kombucha from Rowdy Mermaid because they had a new flavor at their booth. I’m obsessed ya’ll. On a kick; do you ever get on beverage kicks? Before it was Bai5, and well, it’s often wine, too, haha. I don’t know how I’ll drink it all before I leave though. Want to come over for a glass of buch? 🙂
Before heading home, I popped into Lush to grab a couple bath bombs because I’m out. It’s almost bath-taking season (aka winter) and tossing a half of a bath bomb or melt into the basin before hopping in just makes it SO much more relaxing.
When I got home, I realized it was still only 1:00, and it was just TOO nice of a day to spend inside, so I went on an impromptu run. It wasn’t super fast, or super long, but I ran out to the reservoir to catch some views and rays and then headed back home, where I proceeded to read on the back porch for the rest of the afternoon.
There’s just something about kicking back in the sun with a book. (PS – I’m reading Gretchen Rubin’s Better Than Before, and it’s SO interesting. I’ve also been barraging all of my friends as to which type of tendency they are. I’m sure they’re getting tired of it, ha!)
When I realized that it takes me 45 minutes to shower and get ready, and I only had 40 minutes until we had to leave for a party, I jumped up and got ready — for Lauren’s Pumpkin Beer Party!
photo c/o Lauren.
Everyone took a 6-pack of pumpkin beer and then concealed the labels. Then we got two votes, and voted for our favorites. I put both of my pennies (as I would) in a sweet, spicy, stout, which turned out to be Odyssey’s Fluffy Pumpkin Toasted Marshmallow – and it won!
Sounds about right..
Also – if you’re following me on Snapchat, I snap these type of antics on the reg (but not too reg….not snapping all day long….) if you care to follow along, haha.
On Sunday, I slept in until 7:15!!! (I’m an early bird – or a Lark, I should say) and then lay in bed and read my book for about an hour, walked Niko, read some more, worked, and broke for this lunch on the patio – a combo I’ve been obsessed with lately–
It’s a chocolate shake with a crushed KIND breakfast bar on top. SO delish – and it’s packed with protein and a bunch of greens and reds veggies and fruits.
The rest of Sunday ended up being pretty tame. I took Niko for a mid-morning walk, and then read a bunch on the patio before cooking dinner and retiring to watch some Scandal and Brooklyn 99 with Shane.
SO…tell me about YOUR weekend!
When was the last time you moved into a new place?
What’s your beverage of choice outside of water?
What book(s) are you reading? I’m also reading Vince Flynn’s Kill Shot and Death to the Food Pyramid
Pumpkin beer: love it or hate it?
I’m on a TOTAL Kombucha kick right now! When I told my boyfriend I had been thinking about trying to brew my own, he decided right then and there that we were going to, so sitting in his cabinet for the last few weeks has been the little scabby growing. I’m so excited for me to be able to start the kombucha the next time I head up to visit him!! 🙂
As for my weekend…he came down to IL to see me so I showed him around my little old town and we went to a play at my old high school which was so fun!

Sounds like an awesome weekend! I love most pumpkin beers, but not some. I have Better than Before but haven’t cracked into it yet..can’t wait! I am almost finished with The Rosie Project which I have adored so far. It’s a cute must-read. Beverage of choice is always red wine 🙂

You are having just WAY too much fun Paige! 🙂 I’m not a big beer drinker, so I can’t way in on pumpkin beer – tea is actually my boring beverage of choice but on the weekend, I wouldn’t turn down a nice dry cider!

Ok I want to eat that chocolate shake bowl in a bath with a lush bath bomb fizzing around me. I was just at Lush this weekend during a girls shopping trip with my mom and sister!
