Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Hi friends!
Before we get started, I wanted to remind you: today’s the last day that you can get Body Weight Burn for 40% off! After today, the price will increase š
Today I thought I’d lighten things up around here and talk about some things I’m loving this week so much that I just have to share. Lots of awesome stuff going down on the interwebz – and in life – this week. The following list is a mish mash of things I find awesome. I hope you will, too!
1. ALL THINGS DECORATING.
You guys. I was SO not into buying furniture and decorating our home when we first moved into our new house. I just wanted it to beĀ done. But now that we’ve started the process? I. can’.t stop. I’veĀ almostĀ got my office finished (we’re changing out the carpet for hardwood, need more bookshelf decoations, my side table hasn’t been delivered yet, etc.) butĀ when I do, I’ll make sure to publish a tour. I’m still working on finding the perfect desk chair (the one below is just a stand in.) There’s something SO magical about working in a clean, pretty, yummy space that exudes inspiration, ya know?
It’s not complete quite yet, but it’s already a floppity jillion times better than working at the card table I temporarily had in here. Yep, I love decorating, and Restoration Hardware and Arhaus have officially (albeit temporarily) replaced my prior favorite stores, Lululemon and Anthropologie. Ha!
2. Jill Coleman’s 20×20 Challenge.
I love Jillfit and nearly everything she publishes on her corner of the interwebz, but I felt like this offer was so generous that I just had to share. For the month of August, she’s hosting a challenge to get in twenty 20-minute workouts in the month of August. That averages out to be 5 workouts a week, which for most, is totally doable. But, she’s also going a step further and sending out 20 videos of workouts throughout the month. Pretty awesome, right?
3. Lush products.
Even though it’s the middle of summer, I’m a sucker for a nice, relaxing bubble bath, and take about one a week right before bed.
I love throwing in a bath bomb, bath melt, or bar (or all 3, haha) into the tub and just soaking away with some wine or tea, reading Lena Dunham’s Not That Kind of Girl. Also love Lush’s whipped shaving cream, and lemon hand (I actually use it on my feetsies) balm.
4. Veep.
OMG. Obsessed with this HBO show. Shane and I started watching Veep at the very beginning of July, and sadly we are all out of episodes now. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a comical genius in it, and that’s coming from someone who didn’t even like Seinfeld. We all have our inner Selina Meyers in us, and I just die laughing at the horribly, ridiculous, cruel, and hilarious lines in this show.
5. July.
July, to me, is the epitome of summer. Summer’s my ultimate month, and I’ve been doing my best to get out and soak it up before it’s over (which is today! Ah!) I’ve also been taking Niko on 30 minute walks at both sunrise and sunset because it’s the absolute perfect temperature, and the mountains just look outstanding at both times.
Can you spot the sundog?
But hey, August is pretty cool, too, and I’m actually welcoming it come tomorrow up in Rocky Mtn National Park with a hike with some friends. Yay!
6. Organizing.
Along with decorating, I’m even more obsessed with organizing than I usually am. I’m all about systems, but I might be getting a little cray lately. That reminds me – I still need to make a post about the system I use for Evernote. I actually downloaded the Konmari book to my kindle the other night, and while the chick who wrote it seems a little out there for me, I can’t deny that now I want to organize ALL the things. The other night I spent the hours of 7pm-10pm in our closet rearranging, purging, and organizing everything. In my already paired down closet, I was able to get rid of 6 garbage bags full of clothes/bags/hats/etc.
7. Eggs & Oatmeal for breakfast.
Lately my breakfast has been the same for every single day that I don’t have to leave the house super early. I throw some mushrooms, spinach, and chicken sausage onto the griddle, whisk up some eggs + egg whites, and toss them on. Meanwhile, I cookĀ my oats. Ok, that’s an overstatement. I tear off the top to the bag of TJ’s apple cinnamon oats, pour them into the bowl, add water, microwave, and add peanut butter. For some reason this breakfast is so satiating. I just love it.
8. Bret Contreras’ 30 Day Glute Challenge.
Fed up with all of the silly 30-day squat and plank challenges out there, Bret put out his own challenge onto the interwebz. If I were the 30-day challenge type, I just might participate in it. Alas, I’m not, but I’m sure I’ll do some here and there. That said, the thought of doing 250 hip thrusts has my cheeks quivering in fear!
9. SnapChat.Ā
(a snap – is that what they’re called? – from Sunday’s story)
Oh man. Do any of you follow me on snapchat? If so, would you tell me if I came on a little strong/weird/too much? I love me some snapchat, and I think the main reason is because I take it with absolutely zero percent seriousness, and just have fun with it. On all of my other social media accounts, I try to only publish content that will help you. Something that’s either informative, inspirational, or enriching. But on snapchat? I just post with abandon. I’m TrainerPaige on there if you’d like to be friends. #sorrynotsorry I’m also trying to get my feet wet with Periscope. I’m thinking about doing mini sessions all about strength training and how to create your own workouts/programs. Yay? Nay?

Happy Friday, my dear friends!
I’m on IG, but whats snapchat all about?
I have yet to try out Periscope or Snapchat. I don’t really need more social networks, but they do kind of sound like fun. The mini sessions on workouts/fitness sound like a great idea.

I LOVE Veep! I watched all of them maybe last summer? So I actually might have some new ones now – I need to check! I always know a show is good when there’s an awful character (Jonah) but the actor is so good at playing the part that I end up loving him.
Yay for decorating! It is fun, I agree. But, like you, I totally go in phases with it. I won’t be in the mood, and then I’ll go craaaazy with it for awhile. š Loving the looks of your office space so far!
Oh man, the rising popularity of Snapchat and Periscope is making me anxious….like we reallllly need more social media platforms?! I’ve been quite resistant to them, but I may give in to Periscope eventually. It sounds kinda fun. š

And Yay! Love organizing š The best feelings!
