Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Comfort.
Fit.
Durability.
Cushion.
Appearance.
Those are my 5 factors to determine whether a running shoe will be a good fit for me. While the first four are probably the most important, admittedly, I place appearance pretty high up on the scale.
I was recently given the opportunity to review Puma’s new IGNITE running shoe for a campaign with Fitfluential, and when I opened the signature red shoebox, I checked that one off immediately.

I absolutely love the color combination of this specific shoe, along with the overall retro look the kicks have going on. It’s the first four factors that are typically a little tricker for me. See, I have weird pinky toes, and can be very picky about what feels comfortable on my feet.
I don’t know about you, but I think the best way to grade that test is by taking them about for a test run – literally!
There’s a dirt road across the way from our house, and last week I took them on a date to my favorite neighborhood hill for some hill sprints. It’s one thing for those first four factors to pass the test with just walking – but it’s another after some heavy duty pavement (well, dirt) pounding.
The ignites are Puma’s most responsive running shoe yet, meaning there’s a full layer of foam running the length of the shoe to provide high rebound cushioning. Furthermore, they’ve added Foreverfoam in the heel to absorb impact and increase durability.
It felt like I was running on little clouds.
They also sent me the CoolCELL PR Pure Fitted short sleeve Tee, which wicks away sweat from the skin while providing air flow through targeted areas through the mesh. It also uses Cleansport NXT, which controls odor from an organic base of polyester and spandex.
Comfy & cool? Check, check – especially for a shirt with sleeves. But my favorite thing about the shirt was its subtle feminine details like the little ruffles along the side, and the flattering fit.
Lastly, I reviewed the Essential 3/4 tights, which are also made to wick sweat away from the body. From afar, they look like a pair of high quality running capris, but up close you can see the detail of mesh strips down the leg, which I just loved!

Those pants are super cute! When it comes to running shoes, a big thing for me is their breathability. My feet tend to warm up really fast so especially during the warmer months, it’s so important for my shoes to breathe to keep my feet cool!

Puma makes great shoes – although I haven’t used them for running shoes yet. My last two pairs of gym shoes have been Puma though and I love them. These are very cute and love the review!

Workout clothes have to be comfortable for me. If they’re uncomfortable, ride up, or don’t stay in place I know I won’t want to wear them.
