Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Hi friends! Happy Friday once again…any big plans for the weekend?
Chef Hosea (winner of Top Chef season 5) just opened a new restaurant here in Boulder, so we made reservations for dinner. Actually, my girl Lauren is Hosea’s buddy and #1 fan, and made sure to make reservations ASAP…Shane and I were happy to accept the invitation 🙂 Either way, I can’t wait!
This week, I’ve been testing out the Reebok Cardio Ultra shoe.
I also received the Reebok Bonded Tight and Studio Cardio Crop from Reebok!

The Cardio Ultra shoe is made to be a high impact studio shoe with enhanced medial arch support and a wide base. This makes it the perfect shoe for all of the TRX classes I teach at a local studio here in town!
Plus, the shoes are bright yellow, which matches perfectly with the TRX straps while I teach. It’s the little things 😉
Because of the Cardio Ultra shoe’s Adaptamove features, these shoes support the multidirectional movements that we often do in class, and the Turnzone in the outsole made movements like the squat to lateral lunge easy to pivot from move to move.
There’s also the Trifoam in the front of the sole of the shoe, which makes moves like our single leg burpee, squat jump, and sprinter start feel great, thanks to the cushioning to absorb the impact of those higher-impact exercises.
Personally, I was impressed with how flat the shoe was on the bottom, which is great for exercises like split squats and single leg squats, while still providing enough cushion for moves like the split squat jump I’m doing above. I find that if you find a great shoe for stability, it often sacrifices cushion. Sometimes I’ll even bring two pairs of shoes to the gym – one for strength training and one for plyometrics. I definitely don’t have to do that with this shoe!
I’ve also never owned a bright yellow shoe – I just love the color!
My class members even commented on how much they liked my shoes, and I was happy to report back to them that they were extremely comfortable and functional while still being cute and stylish.
Since I knew I’d be doing a review for you guys, I thought I’d also create a little workout for you all – the Cardio Ultra Workout, which is a cardio strength training (metabolic, calorie torcher!) workout to work the muscles and burn a ton of calories.
You’ll need:
Directions:
Complete 5 reps of the specified exercise, then complete 10 kettbell or dumbbell swings before moving on to the next suspension training exercise. Between each suspension training exercise, complete 10 swings. Rest, and repeat 2 more times.
Disclaimer: you must consult your physician before beginning any new exercise program.
