Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Hi guys! Happy Friday to ya.
I’m glad you enjoyed yesterday’s TRX workout. If you try/tried it out, I’d love to hear how it went for you!
This week went by SO quickly for me. I’m not sure why or how, but all the sudden it was Thursday, and in my mind it was only Tuesday. It went by so quickly that I forgot about a doctor’s appointment I had until the day after it – and I never do that.
Anyway, lots of fun things went down this week, and I’m excited to tell you about them! Let’s do that with a numbered list, shall we?
1. This week’s workouts.
Sunday – lifting
Monday – Boot Camp workout A + trail run
Tuesday – Spin
Wednesday Boot Camp Workout B + trail run
Thursday – Spin
Friday – trail run
This week marked the start of YTP Boot Camp, so I’ve been doing most of the workouts along with my team each day. This week’s a lot of core/foundation + stabilization, which has been a lot of fun for me. I’d been doing the same program I’d written for the past 4-5 weeks, so I was ready for a change.
Other workouts have included teaching 2 30-minute indoor cycling classes (yes, it’s a workout for me, too!) and trail running 3 different days – one solo, one with Amy, and this morning I’m meeting up with Marissa.
2. Indian Summer.
I’m so glad Colorado decided to extend its summer a bit longer. This week has been in the upper 80’s, and even reached 90 one day, which is fine by me. That might sound weird, but I know snow is just around the corner. I’m going to rock the tank + skirt + birkenstocks combo as long as I possibly can.
3. This pumpkin spice candle from Anthropologie.
Ironically, I’m also loving all things fall. I bought this candle on a cooler day at Anthro last week, and I’ve been enjoying lighting it at night…with the A/C cranked up, haha
4. These pumpkin spiced pumpkin seeds from Trader Joe’s.
Jen posted a pic on Instagram, and I knew they’d be in my shopping basket at my next stop. Guys, they’re delicious. But watch out, I almost ate half the bag before I even got home!
5. Pumpkin Spiced Chai Smoothies.
I posted the recipe on Instagram and Facebook the other day, and I’ve had 3 now this week. It’s my new favorite combo, for sure.
Specifically, a dark chocolate chunk Quest bar warmed up, and then topped with Justin’s Vanilla Almond Butter. Quest is our YTP Boot Camp sponsor this week. Two lucky winners will be getting a prize package full of Quest goodness!
6. Brewing my own Kombucha.
Lauren finally convinced me to try it, and now I have a gallon sized ball jar full of pumpkin spiced tea (again with the fall flavors) and a slimy, disgusting scoby mother just brewing away. The scoby is apparently eating the sugar that’s in there, and Shane and I joked that it was going to take over and come eat us in our sleep! Now that could just be the next weird, hippy, horror flick. You just wait.
7. Italian cookies
Some good friends just got back form Italy, and brought us back a goodie bag filled with Italian treats. These are delicious in more ways than one. Because if I’m unable to actually read the sugar and calorie count, it automatically means that there’s none in there. I mean, for all I know those words could be trying to tell me this is a health food and it’s basically equated to eating broccoli. Really tasty, sweet, chocolatey, buttery broccoli. It’s science.
8. Quest Bars at night
Specifically, a dark chocolate chunk Quest bar warmed up, and then topped with Justin’s Vanilla Almond Butter. Quest is our YTP Boot Camp sponsor this week. Two lucky winners will be getting a prize package full of Quest goodness!
9. These Pre-Workout Protein Balls!
I made these on Tuesday, and I’ve been popping one before my early morning workouts. I posted the recipe over on Instagram if you’d like to try them out!
10. Mums!
I bought and planted 2 mums this week (the orange above and some red) and they add such a colorful and refreshing ‘welcome home’ each day. Fall colors aren’t my favorite colors, but they do put me in a good mood for the fall season to come
…and I’m out of things to tell you. Happy weekend!
Are you having an Indian summer right now?
Are you into Fall flavors yet?
Have you ever brewed your own kombucha?
Even though we had snow last week here in Calgary, it’s been feeling like summer since then. The temperature has been in the low 20’s C (or 70’s F).
Those flowers are beautiful.

Lauren gave me one she had! Crossing my fingers it turns out tasty 🙂
Mmmmm lots of yummy looking food here! I’m slowly transitioning to fall stuff. It’s still so darn hot here that it’s been a little slower going for me to get in the mood.
LOVE mums! Have a great weekend! xo

i wish we were having an indian summer in boston! it got cold quick! i think it’ll warm up once more though. i hope! anthro has really great candles. definitely worth the high price tag. i’ve had the capri blue volcano for a while and i love the scent. i was just telling my roommate i want to get some fall-themed plugins or candles. maybe some apple scents. have a great weekend!
Thank the good Lord above for Indian summers! With the crazy amount of snow we had last week, this week is heaven sent for sure. It’s supposed to get to 25 degrees celcius (77F) here on Monday! Whoo hoo! And yes, I will always love love love all things pumpkin. Bring. It. On.
One of these days I’ll try making my own kombucha again, maybe after I come back from vacation 🙂 I tried once. I think I was too chicken to drink my own kombucha, I didn’t trust it. LOL.

I must buy that candle from Anthro!!
I got my mom a kombucha kit for Christmas last year, and the scoby totally grossed me out. Haven’t gotten one for myself mainly for that reason 🙂
