Some thoughts and discussions from me.

Hello, friends!

Wow, it’s suddenly a winter wonderland over in these parts. They’re actually calling it a Siberian front, because we are in a DEEP freeze for the next couple of days! Last night the low was –10, and I think the high is around 10-15 today and tomorrow. Yikes. I forsee nights spent by the fire around the Christmas tree.

Our tree, by the way, is still bare. I went out to get lights for it, but apparently two boxes wasn’t enough for our little tree! And I wasn’t about to go out when I didn’t absolutely have to yesterday. Maybe it will get decorated tonight Winking smile I’m in no hurry – we’ve still got 20 days until the actual day!

Speaking of Christmas, I’ve already got my mind on presents. Not for me, so much…Shane keeps asking me but I can’t think of anything to ask for! I have, however, got some specials going for personal training at the gym, and have been slowly but surely getting presents for those in my life. I used to love gift giving….but for some reason this year it just feels like a bunch of unnecessary pressure!

As I got to work, thinking about what I might like, I came across a “lift” necklace on Etsy, and from there, I decided to create a gift guide to post on the blog for the Fit Female in your life.

1. A Lift necklace from Etsy. Gosh, does Etsy have some cute necklaces! This one appealed to me most, but there’s also a cute one with a 45# plate that says “lift heavy” that’s pretty cute, too.

2. Fitbit. So many of my clients have Fitbits, and it helps them SO much. They can track everything from steps to calories to sleep, and are super helpful for those who like to track their fitness goals in a number-oriented fashion.

3. KOSS Fitbuds. I reviewed KOSS fitbuds and fitclips earlier this year, and have loved them every since! KOSS makes my favorite earbud, the fitbud, which squeezes in my ear and stays put through kettlebell swings, sprints, and “sled” pushes (more on those soon.) But they also make the Fit Clip, which I know Lindsay loves! They are also sweat resistance, which is very important for the days when I get metabolic Smile

4. Under Armour hoodie. Or really, any sports brand hoodie. I just tend to really like Under Armour Smile

5. Superbands! These are one of most versatile training tools out there, and can be used in anything from assisted chin ups, to inverted rows, to chest press, to vector loaded squats, and more!

6. Kettlebells. OK, Kettlebells are also one of the most versatile tools out there. In fact, today at the gym, I did a quick metabolic strength workout with 5 different exercises that all utilized the kettlebell. Unfortunately, I only have a 15# KB here at home. A couple heavier ones would be awesome!

7. Yoga mat and/or accessories. Although my yoga practice has tapered off, I really hope to start incorporating it back into my routine soon. It’s such a great workout for mobility and flexibility, and a good mat and accessories really do make a difference! I love the Manduka mat, but I also really want to try the Aspen Yoga Mat, which is made here in Colorado!

8. Glass water bottle. I bought a glass camelbak a while back, and I swear, water just tastes better when it’s in a glass container Winking smile Plus, you don’t get any of that junk that can be in plastic or aluminum – and it’s easy to clean!

9. Non slip headbands. Note: not all non-slip headbands are created equally. The only ones that I have had 100% success with are sweaty bands and BAMR bands, but I’ve also heard BIC bands are good.

What’s on your Christmas list this year?

Disclaimer: I received the KOSS fitbuds and fitclips through Fitfluential, who sponsored this post. All opinions are my own.
