Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Hey, guys!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend, and are starting this Monday off on a refreshed step due to the extra hour we got over the weekend. Although I had to work all day on Saturday, I would still call my weekend a win. And since Shane and I fell asleep on the couch around 8:30 (which really meant, ummm, 7:30 with the time change!) I am feeling refreshed
As far as the time change goes, I’ve always been more of a fan of the spring time change. I love that extra hour of daylight! However, now that I teach and train primarily in the mornings, I’m going to appreciate not walking or driving to work in pitch black darkness.
I like to actually see those mountains while I’m jumping around teaching class!
Anyway, inspired by Katie’s Marvelous in my Monday posts, a link up created to start Mondays off on a good foot by focusing on the positive, here are some marvelous things that happened this weekend.
Going out with Good Friends
Friday night Shane and I went out with a couple friends to Lefthand, a brewing company a few blocks from our neighborhood. It was really hoppin’ there! It was so crowded we sat outside and enjoyed our brews. It was a bit chilly, so eventually we took ourselves to a different pub/restaurant for burgers and appetizers. It was one of those times when I was SO hungry when I got there, and SO, incredibly full when we left. I think we all felt that way!
Being KIND at the City Park 5k
(photo c/o Lauren’s instagram )
Yes, this was work, but, having this job is marvelous! Early Saturday morning I picked up Lauren (another perk of the job – working with a bestie!) and we headed to City Park to set up and work the event for KIND. We both commented that it was actually quite fun! Being outside on sunny, fall mornings isn’t bad, and we got to catch up with Lynne (pictured above.)
Celebrating Breakaway’s 1 Year Birthday
Right after I got back from Denver, I grabbed some lunch, and headed over to the TRX and indoor cycling studio, where I just started teaching. I can already tell this place is a warm and friendly community, and the studio is SO technologically advanced! Even I’m still learning, and I consider myself pretty tech-savvy. At the anniversary event, I took two different instructor’s demo classes (30 minutes each) so I could get some exposure of different teaching style, and I brought KIND bars for all!
Doing Nothing on Saturday Night
This clip by John Mulaney says it all…
Saturday, I left my house before 6:00am, and I didn’t get back home until after 4:00, and it was one of those nights where the mere thought doing nothing brought instant joy to my face! Actually, we ordered Thai take out, and watched stand up (Aziz Ansari’s new skit and some Mike Birbiglia.)
Re-opened Trails & Hiking with Friends
Gregory Canyon to Green Mountain trail recently opened up, so you know Lauren and I made plans to hike it ASAP. This time we brought the guys along.
t’s a pretty tough hike – and always WIPES me out. However, this time around it took us an extra hour (a total of 4) because of how badly the trail was affected from the flood. At one point, we had to hike along the creek bed because the flood waters just completely wiped out the trail.
It BLEW our minds…Even the road to the trailhead was tore up. It looked like there had been a really bad earthquake the entire length of the road.
Aside from that, the hike was a really good one, and I can’t imagine how much hard work went into it just becoming hikeable again! Plus, hopping around the creek bed from rock to rock kind of made me feel like a kid again
Marvelous!

Looks like a fantastic weekend! I really want to visit Colorado.
This past weekend I went to Six Flags for my husband’s company outing and yesterday we hosted an open house for people to just come by and see the house that we built. 🙂 Nice weekend with even nicer weather!
Have a great week Paige!

Down time was my favorite part of the weekend, as well. That extra hour of sleep was so needed! I can’t believe those photos from your hike! I can’t believe how different that area looks from us south of the city, we were so lucky to be spared from the damage!

It’s so hard to see the flood damage. What a terrible toll it took on everything in that area. Glad that things are slowly getting back to normal, and, hopefully, it will continue to get better!

We watched six episodes of Boardwalk Empire (Season Three) on Saturday and went to a winery and watched Walking Dead on Sunday. Other than that, we did NOTHING; love that comedy segment you posted. That guy is funny:-)
My husband and I visited Denver recently and took a trip to Left Hand since we hunt down Milk Stout here in MA like crazy people. I’m pretty jealous!
