Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Hey, guys How’s the start of your week going?
I’m happy to report that as the hours went on yesterday, my knee felt better and better. I was oh-so-tempted to go and lift, but instead of going against my better judgment, as I do sometimes, I listened to my intuition and rested one more day. Today, however, I’m hoping to get a light lifting workout in the gym after training some morning clients. It just freaked me out so much, because my knees never give me pain! I refuse to believe it’s because I’m getting old, too. I hate thinking that way!
While not working out or hiking, I spent the majority of my morning running around Boulder – teaching a HIIT class at Movement and doing samplings and seedings for KIND.
^At Hope Foods, who just so happens to make my favorite hummus ever, Thai Coconut Curry hummus. It’s slightly sweet, and incredibly delicious. They’re also organic, sustainable, and donate 10% of profits to local communities in need, which is pretty darn awesome in my book
I also did a little last minute super secret birthday shopping for Shane. Yep, Shane turns the big 3-2 today!
I’m hoping to make his day special by doing some of his favorite things tonight: relaxing at home and getting barbeque ribs and pulled pork. Ha! He’s easy to please. No really, though. I couldn’t be more proud of him. He’s made it very far for his age (and I know it’s just going to get bigger and better for him!) and has overcome some serious adversity. He’s the most generous and kind person I know, too. I guess you could say that I’m so happy that he was born 32 years ago
But enough sap for the day, let’s get to a workout!
I just started teaching Indoor Cycling, but I thought I’d still share with you all a workout that you can do at home or the gym on a stationary bike. I got great feedback on this class, and loved the playlist
As always, please check with your doctor before beginning any new exercise program.
What’s your favorite kind of hummus?
That’s great to hear that your knee feels better and that listened to your body and let it rest one extra day. I know how hard it is to give up a workout for the sake of healing. Happy birthday to Shane! Hope you guys have fun celebrations!

Happy Birthday to Shane! 🙂
Love the playlist for spinning. I’m going to give it a try later this week! I’m getting a big ol’ shot in my knee tonight for some knee pain I’ve been having. Getting old stinks!

Happy birthday to Shane!
Hummus in general is pretty fabulous, but lately I’ve been loving sweet potato hummus.

woooah that hummus flavor sounds cool! my current favorite is cedar’s lemon hummus. it’s not too lemony, but you get a bit more of the scent than in regular hummus. it’s refreshing!

Definitely trying out this spin workout! Since I’m always doing my own workouts anyways and always look for ways to vary it.
Goodness, that hummus flavour sounds amazing!
And hope Shane has a great birthday!

So glad your knee feels better! I just recently got over a knee injury myself, and it can be extremely frustrating. Happy Birthday, Shane!

I’m not a huge hummus fan, but if I eat it I will usually have the roasted red pepper variety.
Happy Birthday to Shane!

Every time I hear this song, it makes me want to be in spin class. You might like it when you teach one of your classes! 🙂 Enrique Iglesias – Finally Found You ft. Sammy Adams

Thanks for the suggestion!! 🙂
I find that I can’t make it to spin class on a regular basis and when I try spinning on my own, I never push myself as hard as when I’m using this killer coached spinning album I found on iTunes. It’s made by an elite cycling trainer to push you: http://bit.ly/CycleExpress_iTunes
