Happy Halloween (<—-my official Halloween costume)
Well, yesterday was another jam-packed day. It seems my desk-work is really piling up this week! Each day this week, Iβve been sitting at my computer into dinner time before forcing myself to stop.
Although Shane and I decided to stay in over Halloween weekend, I plan on pulling out a few stops for my classes and clients today. Iβm incorporating a little bit of a Halloween theme into the workouts, but Iβm also giving them KIND bar treats for making it through!
(old picture, from last month!)
Itβs funny – every now and then, when Iβm working for KIND, Iβll get someone say, βoh! I love those candy bars!!β I think itβs funny that they get called candy bars so much, because the ingredient list is far from the likes of a candy bar. Butβ¦they are just as tasty as candy bars. Fun fact: last Sunday Shane ate five (5!) KIND bars in one day. I couldnβt blame him β theyβre tasty! In fact, Iβm kind of considering handing out KIND bars for Halloween rather than candyβ¦
What do you think?
Well, regardless of how you answered the question above, I have a feeling what youβre going to say to this question:
How would YOU like a box of KIND goodies for Halloween?
A little bit about KIND snacks:
Theyβre the most delicious bars out there (yep, a fact that was opinionated by me) and theyβre healthy. The bars are made out of ingredients you can pronounce, and have a base of nuts. Theyβre all natural, non GMO, and gluten-free. What more could you ask for?
Oh, and then thereβs also the healthy grains clusters and bars (which are also to die for!) These are also all natural, non GMO, gluten-free, and made out of healthy, whole grains like quinoa, oats, amaranth, millet, and buckwheat.
So, for the giveaway: Iβm going to send one lucky reader a box of KIND goodies, including, but not limited to a box of my favorite flavor bars, 2 bags of healthy grains clusters, more single bars, and some extra swag.
You in?

I think giving out fun healthy alternatives is an awesome idea!
I think giving out granola bars or some other candy alternatives would be great. Kids can never eat all the candy they get on trick or treat but they could take some kind bars in their school lunch!

As long as you’re not “That Guy” who gives out floss or toothbrushes (DAD), it’s cool to give out things other than candy. How about some KIND bars?
owww! I’d love to win! I think giving out something other than candy is totally great! A good snack bar or natural fruit snacks are great options. I have nothing against raisins either!
We give out mini bags of goldfish and pretzels instead of candy. I would love to make something healthy and homemade but I know with the number of kids we get that probably wouldn’t ever fly with all the parents.

Someone did a poll and non-candy was in the top 9 most hated treats for Halloween. The funny thing is that some of my favorite candies made the list!
Candy is so easy and we go to church that night, while there aren’t a lot of kids they go around the parking lot 7 or 8 times. I don’t know if I’d want to buy that many non candy items. Although, I have seen some super fun things in the Oriental Trading catalog!
I have a KIND bar in my purse.

I guess it depends what you were handing out…like I would LOVE kind bars instead of candy, not gonna lie. Someone in my neighborhood always hands out bags of chips too, which is ok I guess. But then there was this little old lady who always handed out pencils….yes pencils….
Now that Im older I would LOVE to receive KIND bars instead of candy BUT as a kid I was always bummed when people gave out items other than candy. I remember the dentist down the street handed out toothbrushes haha

Halloween was one of the only days of the year that I was actually allowed to eat candy as a kid. I remember being SOOO excited about getting candy on Halloween (because my mom didn’t buy it otherwise). So, I’m not sure that I would give anything other than candy out on Halloween. I honestly think it’s up to the parents to teach kids how much is too much and that moderation is key.
My boss’s wife (I work in their home, so we’re together every day) is handing out pretzels. While the ingredient list isn’t spectacular, it’s a nice change from candy candy candy!!! Plus, I’ve been enjoying mini bags of pretzels for the past two weeks! π Thanks for the giveaway!!
Giving out anything other than candy on Halloween is a crime! All the kids want (okay, and maybe adults too…) are sweets, sweets and more sweets. What’s with this homemade popcorn ball business? An apple? No thanks!

I actually am always torn on the candy question. A part of me thinks maybe I should just relax a little bit since it’s a special holiday. The other part of me is horrified by the more and more information I keep reading on the list of ingredients in things like candy. I can’t ever decide!

I think Kind bars would be an awesome “treat”. Im such a party pooper when it comes to Halloween, thinking about ppl going through bowls of sugar in a day(s) makes my skin crawl.
once a year it is ok to have a special candy holiday! I hand out small candy bars…
Giving out candy is great, but I give extra points for creative giveaways π
I think that it is fine to give out other stuff than candy. Kids get so much candy at Halloween a few healthy treats snuck in there will never hurt.
I live in an apartment complex where we don’t get trick or treaters, but I’m ok with giving candy, as long as it’s not the kinds I like. Why give that away? I would definitely consider giving out a lower-calories candy, like air heads or sour patch kids, too, because so many kids have allergies. Or raisins! Yum!
I never minded getting stuff other than candy so I think it’s fine! Kids will get plenty of candy from other people.
i like the idea of giving something other than candy for halloween provided that it’s fun and/or useful! i remember getting little toys and trinkets when i was younger and it felt like an extra bonus b/c i already had a huge bag full of candy!
It’s fine to give other stuff for halloween… maybe add 1 or 2 candies so the kids don’t kick us π
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, but I know that I wouldn’t eat something “homemade” unless it was from someone I totally trust. You never know these days!

I think kids get so much candy, it would be fun to have a couple of fun things in there like stickers or pencils. I know I’D love to get a Kind bar in my trick or treat bag! I’m gonna have one for snack today! Happy Halloween!!!
My parents always gave away money to the kids on our block. We became a huge hit because of it! In the same token, I came from a really strict family in regards to food and beverage choices. I think kids need to experience having candy surround them or else they’ll develop control issues later on like I did π Besides it’s always fun to be a little bad π
I figure it’s Halloween and it’s a special day-let the kids have candy. They can learn moderation π
I think as long as it is some kind of a ‘treat’ then it would be good to give out….toothbrushes and pennies are not treats! Kind bars however would be great, and it might be the first thing mom or dad claims from the loot.

Well, I have thought about fruit snacks, little bags of popcorn you can buy at the store, and little books. Even buying little cheap books from the dollar tree would add up. But we live in an apartment complex on the edge of town and no one ever trick-or-treats here. At one of my old houses I did pretzle bags I had found at walmart in halloween bags and not many came to our house because it wasn’t on a main road. We ended up with a lot let over.

Love Kind bars! We don’t have many kids where I live but I definitely vote for candy.
Ahh! Would LOVE to win these! I’m a Nutrition and Dietetics Major, and I’m trying to get my hubs to join me on earlier healthier, less-processed foods! He’s tried other bars, but KIND is BOTH of our favorites!
I was so excited about this, I forgot to give me feedback on candy! Seeing as how I am a type 1 diabetic, we try to steer clear of sweets! For Halloween, I suggested making a “kid-friendly” trail mix with nuts, granola, and a few M&M’s!
I think with the amount of sugar kids eat, it’s definitely ok to give out a healthier alternative. Although, if you are a kid in a household like mine growing up, you really look forward to Halloween, because it’s the only time of year you get to have lots of candy!
As much as I liked getting candy, I think getting other fun goodies and treats besides candy was cool too! I would totally love a KIND bar for Halloween!

I have always given out candy without even a thought to give anything but that until we moved. I began hearing moms talk about no dairy, no refined sugar, no fast food, etc. I worried then that they would restrict the candy on Halloween and it may go to waste so we handed out tattoos and goldfish crackers this year.

Kind bars would be great to give for Halloween! Other good alternatives to candy are protein bars, snack size bags of trail mix or gum.

Glad I saw this giveaway! π Love KIND bars although, like me and all bars, I don’t buy them very often because most of them add up…so winning some would be a huge bonus! When it comes to Halloween, I have to say that I am an all-candy-all-the-way person. I just love candy. More than baked goods or fancy coffees or alcohol, candy is my favorite indulgence (yeah, funny that I like the most artificial stuff!). Mainly, I just have such great memories of swapping candies out with friends for the ones you like and making fun trades in our costumes on the living room floor from our stuffed pillow cases filled with candy! As an adult, I’d LOVE to get a bag of goodies like KIND bars or gels or GUs or protein balls…but as a kid, candy! So I’d have to stick with that for my answer. π
