Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Good morning!
How we all doing on this fine Wednesday? Feeling focused, motivated, and ready to go? I have to admit, I woke up on the cranky-pants side of the bed today, so any motivation that comes my way is much wanted and appreciated
^something my yoga teacher said in class the other day that struck me. I’ll have to remember to carry it through with me today. (so that zit that popped up on my face is neither good nor bad, just there! haha)
For today’s post, we are back to What I Ate Wednesday! Instead of just chronicling my eats for ya, I thought I’d do more of a “day in the life” type of post.
I chose Sunday for WIAW this week mainly because, well, I managed to capture all of my eats on camera. But also because Sunday’s are very particular to me. I try to make as little plans as possible on Sunday – it stresses me out a little if my Sunday isn’t clear (something I should probably get over.) I train a client or two, go to church, and then catch up on all things around the house.
Well, this Sunday was a little different because a client rescheduled to a later time, I ended up skipping church due to a longer than usual to-do list (and then felt a little guilty,) and Shane and his buddies drove over to RMNP for a little fly fishing that morning.
Anyway, let’s get this party started!
6:30 a.m. Think, “ugh. I wish I could sleep in,” and get up. Start my day as I always do: breakfast, coffee, bible reading. Breakfast was pancake Sunday!
I cooked up a short stack of Apple Cinnamon flapJacked protein pancakes, and topped it with a mushed together combo of cottage cheese, strawberries, and Nuttzo. After eating, I clean up the dishes, wipe down the counters.
7:30 a.m. Niko walk time! We walk for roughly 45 minutes while I listen to the FitCast.
I am ob-sessed. with this podcast. I listen in the car, on the elliptical, and walking Niko! So much information to soak up. I try to walk Niko for 30-60 minutes every single day.
8:30 a.m. Call my dad to get advice on a job that I’m thinking about applying for. Catch up with him. I love and miss my dad so much!
8:45 a.m. Walk over to the gym to meet my client. Have so much fun training her – she let’s me push her and she makes the session fun for me, too. Afterword I catch up on some client programming.
10:30 a.m. Walk in the door and start making breakfast #2 – toast, sausage, eggs, sauerkraut, and avocado.
Yum! Great Harvest has the best GF bread ever. In love. Then I decide this breakfast also needs coffee.
Remember that I have homemade cold brew in the fridge!
Yessssssss.
11:00 a.m. Clean up kitchen from lunch, finish Monday’s Spirulina blog post, and work on resume and cover letter mumbo jumbo. I take very minimal breaks because I just want to be finished sitting at a computer for the day!
3:30 p.m. Shane got home from fly fishing! Feeling a little snacky, so I open the pantry to see what jumps out at me.
Unfortunately, Shane didn’t bring home any trout for us to eat (next time, babe,) but I caught a salmon in the pantry
Got it! Mixed it with a little mayo, relish, and onion, and ate it over a bed of some super yummy lettuce I picked up at the farm stand, and some lentil crackers on the side.
I eat this while I finish up my blog work for the day. Ahhhh. Time to relax!
4:30 p.m. I watch some boring show with Shane for about 20 minutes, and then he takes a sharp left turn to nap city. As soon as he’s out I switch it to Housewives.
Shane can’t stand to even be in the same room with me when I’m watching Real Housewives – their voices drive him batty! Can’t say I blame him…
6:15 Shane’s back up! We fire up the grill and get ready for dinner. We’re still obsesses with our grill, by the way. We made cheeseburgers, fries, and leftover broccoli salad.
Mmmm. This is one of my favorite meals. All it needs is an ear of buttery sweet corn to win the day!
7:00: We tag team the kitchen mess of dishes, counters, and the like.
7:30: Catch up on Dexter before feeling a little snacky again. Walk over to the ice cream truck to fetch some cookies and cream. Eat half of it by the time I make it back to the house.
Declare it the best ice cream I’ve ever had!!!
8:00: Catch up on True Blood, and then get sucked in to the The Challenge: Rivals. I’m such a sucker for this show!
Head upstairs around 9:30, dreading my 5:00 a.m. alarm the next day. Read Safe Haven for about 20 minutes before drifting off to dreamland.
Just another day in the life!
And today I’m off to train a morning client and then catch up on some online client programming (had a few new clients this week! woot!) Have a wonderful Wednesday, all!
What’s your morning routine right after waking up?
AMEN
I love that notion of just sensations (Ive never heard that word used before—I adore) as Im really trying to teach that to my seven year old now.

First thing after I wake up is grab a cup of coffee. How lucky are you to be able to walk to the ice cream truck! That may be very dangerous for me!

haha, I was going to say – not always lucky 😉
Wish I had an ice cream truck nearby 😉
Usually in the mornings I’m up at 6, make a quick pre-workout snack and eat it while setting up blog stuff, and at the gym by 6:30.

Love reading into other peoples days! Morning routine varies depending on if I have early clients or not, the one thing that is standard is lemon water right after waking-up! And thanks for the podcast referral, I’m always looking for new ones!

Those pancakes look great, and love the added protein boost to them! Impressive that you get up so early on a Sunday, although my body clock can force me to do the same on weekends. Currently my morning routine involves a sprint to the heater as soon as I wake up- its freezing at the moment!

I love that you can just walk to an ice cream truck like that! Jealous!
My morning routine is pretty minimal. If I’m going into the office I give myself just enough time to drink one cup of coffee, check my FitBit stats (I’m obsessed with seeing how I slept), put contacts in and minimal makeup on, let my hair out of a bun in a futile attempt to create natural waves (it’s too hot and humid to attempt to fix it), blend my breakfast smoothie and throw on clothes before rushing out the door.
If I’m working from home… I get up 5 minutes before work is supposed to start, put contacts in and grab a cup of cofee and stumble to the computer in my pajamas. It is not pretty 🙂
Hope the crankiness subsides! I totally believe in that quote you posted, but sometimes it’s easier said than done!
