Hiya, friends! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was great – packed with all things Colorado: breweries, friends, hikes, food, and fitness.
Today I want to talk to you about that last component – FITNESS. It’s obvious that fitness is a huge gigantic part of my life. Being a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, I live it all day, every day One question all my clients seem to ask me is: Do you ever find it hard to train yourself after training clients all day? The honest answer? Sometimes yes, but only if I don’t put the creativity and thought into making my workouts fun.
One sure fire way to motivate myself to workout is by creating a FUNctional workout. Although lifting takes up the bulk of my workouts, I love doing functional workouts (think boot camp) to spice things up, and get a little cardiovascular conditioning in there as well.
So when Puma challenged me to to design a FUN workout while trying out some of their workout apparel, it was a no brainer: a functional fitness workout!
As always, please discuss any diet or exercise changes with your doctor.
This workout hits both strength and conditioning. It’s designed to be a full body workout that will both give your muscles a great (endurance) strength workout as well as get your heart-rate pumping! Who needs a treadmill for cardio?! Just jump around! Here’s a quick little break down of the exercises:
Now that the hard work is done, let’s talk clothes
The Ribbed Performance Tank Top – I love this tank and am planning on grabbing another one (with the 20% off discount going on RIGHT NOW – plus free shipping for orders over $49!) It’s plenty long, lies perfectly flat on my stomach/hips, and has nice thick straps. It’s one of my go-to tanks when I’m training clients and I want to look nice and professional.
Performance Bodywear Tech ACTV Long Tights – these tights are seriously like a second skin. They’re compression tights with interior taping to work with the body’s natural systems. Basically, it lends a big hand during demanding workouts, and make your legs feel awesome!
Formlite XT Ultra Fluo Women’s Training Shoes – these shoes are so light and flexible! You can literally bend them in half and pack them up. They also fit like a glove and are super bright, which I love.
You can find them all on the Puma website and take advantage of their semi-annual sale, which gets you an extra 20% off of sale items (the ribbed tank is on sale, cough cough!) You also get free shipping on orders over $49.
Have you worn Puma apparel before?
What do you rely on to make workouts fun?
PS – today’s the last day to get in on the FlapJacked Protein Pancake giveaway! Make sure to get your entry in if you haven’t already

They’re my nemesis!
Love my TRX! It’s so much fun to experiment with that thing…even if it hurts.
I think I wore puma once when I was a lot younger…like ninth grade. Maybe I should try them out again.
To make workouts fun I definitely try and change it up, so I’m not doing the same thing over and over..I’d be bored far too fast.

That workout looks AWESOME!! And you look so great doing it. I am not good at running hills, so I bet those stair runs would be killer (and so good for me!). Love this!
