Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Hey, hey! Happy Friday. I’m quite excited for the day, because after a morning of training clients, I’ve got an afternoon of vinyasa and a pedicure with this gal Should be fun!
Let’s keep the positivity rollin’ right along with some favorites. I haven’t done a “friday faves” post in a while, so it’s long overdue. Here we go!
1. Watermelon!
Watermelon isn’t my favorite fruit (although it does top apples and bananas,) but once the temps rise above 90 degrees, I just instantly crave it. I love slicing into thin slices and then chomping away, juice running down my arms the whole time. #attractive
2. Nalgene Canteens
Love. I bought them on a whim the other day at Dick’s, since they were buy one, get one half off. I got one for me, and one for Shane, but Shane will be lucky if he ever gets to use his. They hold a crap ton of water (32 ounces,) they’re BPA free, and they’re dishwasher safe (a must.) I can’t wait to cover them in bumper stickers and tote them every where I go!
3. Justin’s Maple Almond Butter
I’m on a Justin’s kick. Maple is my all time favorite flavor (followed by chocolate almond, then regular almond, then choc. hazelnut, and finally vanilla.) I put it on protein pancakes, mix it up with Greek yogurt and muesli, smear it on homemade protein bars, or just eat it with a spoon. Fave flavor.
4. The Dry Bar’s shower cap
My friend, Heidi, actually recommended this to me after telling me she goes three, sometimes four, days without a shampoo. I couldn’t believe it. When I asked her for her secret, she recommended this shower cap. I promptly drove to Ulta to pick up one for myself, and I have to concur – it’s amazing! It’s terry-cloth lined, and locks out any moisture or steam from the shower.
5. My besties from home
You guys all know by now how much I flipping love living in Colorado. Well, I have to admit that I miss my closest friends and family just as much – so much it hurts! I’m SO super duper excited that my two best friends from my home town just officially purchased plane tickets to come visit me in September!!!! I’m over the moon.
6. The FitCast
I am a podcast junkie. And I’m a fitness junkie. Sure, the Jillian Michaels podcast is entertaining, but that’s about where it stops. She doesn’t talk about anything revolutionary, and most of the fitness topics she does cover are taken straight from Men’s Health. The Fit Cast talks all about training – frequency, duration, types, beginners, finishers, etc. It covers all the bases! I love it.
7. My old lady floppy sun hat
Ok. It’s not the most stylish hat, but it’s not too bad. But that’s not the reason I got it. The reason I picked up this hat this week is because the sun out here in CO is INTENSE. I need something to cover my head (and nose and chin and forehead and shoulders and neck) when I’m driving with the sunroof open, walking Niko, or going on (less windy) hikes.
8. Sweaty Bands!
I’ve been a Sweaty Bands lover for a long time now, and the reason is that they come in super cute colors and they STAY put. No other headband I’ve tried has done this before. Since I’m training clients and teaching classes a lot during the day, and get my workouts in in between, I almost always have a Sweaty Band on my head.
Matchy matchy
And we’ll end on 8, because that’s my favorite number under 27, and 27 items would just be excessive now, wouldn’t it?
Crap, I thought of a #9!
9. My MuesliFusion blog post was published yesterday!
Check it out for the deets on what produce is in season, why it’s important to buy seasonally, and how to buy seasonal produce!
OK, now I’m out. Happy Friday
What are some of your faves right now?
What’s your favorite almond butter?
Congrats on the article! I’ll go check it out now. I really need to try out those sweaty bands. I keep hearing about them and I have yet to find a headband that stays on my head!

Ooo, that almond butter looks good! I went to buy some at Whole Foods the other day and the sign said it was on sale but when they rang it up, it was $16…a bit pricey, so I declined.

My Target was having a sale on Justin’s Nut Butter and I jumped for joy and snatched up the maple flavor – my favorite! I also love Sweaty Bands. BIG fan! Happy weekend!

Nice! Vitcost.com had them for buy 1, get 1 50%, so I snatched them both up 🙂
I wish we liked watermelon more but even if we buy a small one most of it goes to waste, a slice or two is all I ever want. But I love all berries in the summer – they just taste 100 times better.
My favorite almond butter is MaraNatha I buy it at Costco here and am hooked, it even took the place of my beloved peanut butter!
I love your hat. I want one similar too, would be great for beach days here.

I have been looking for a floppy hat like that for months, where did you buy it?
I bought mine from a local outdoor/rec store, but it’s Patagonia. I included a link in the post 🙂

Since we don’t have Justin’s AB here, I’ve been super tempted to try and recreate my own maple almond butter, it can’t be that hard, right.
It always looks so tasty.
And sometimes I feel like the only person who hates all melons, something about them just doesn’t sit right with me ha.
Happy Friday!

I think I’m the only person in the world who doesn’t like watermelon – yuck!! 🙂 But I LOVE your floppy hat! I have a straw version & it’s awesome. The only thing with hats & me is when I decide to put on a hat it has to stay on – my bangs will look aweful when I take it off. 🙂

Cute – and I agree! I have to have a headband for the bands on hand for when I take it off 😉
Cute headbands! I appreciate a good matchy-matchy moment every now and then. I’m off to check out your article!

OH! And I’m ordering the shower cap. I go a few days between washes and this sounds like a good way to help it look even better.
I desperately need Justin’s to come to Canada – I’ve only tried the vanilla almond and I love it! When I go to Minneapolis in the fall, I’m stocking up – I need to try the chocolate hazelnut and the chocolate almond…and then the maple almond…basically, I just need to try them all 😉
