Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Good morning!
A new flower shop in the neighborhood just opened up for business the other day, and we walked down to pick some up to spruce up the house yesterday Hydrangeas are one of my absolute favorites.
Speaking of my neighborhood, I’m pretty infatuated with it, by the way. Have I mentioned that before? It’s a super fun community – everyone is friendly, helpful, and tight knit. There’s coffee shops, bagel places, my yoga studio, Saturday boot camp, the gym, restaurants, wine shops – and best of all – food trucks!
Last night, for the third Monday in a row, I joined some friends for the food truck festival. This week I went with the Korean bbq beef tacos – I’d been eyeing them the past couple of weeks and went for it last night.
Served up with kimchi – a good choice! I also got a couple GF cookies for dessert.
Good times, but I’m feeling a little under the weather (I really hope I’m not getting sick!) so I didn’t stay too long before heading home and passing out. I’m not sure what it is – a little sore throat and body ache. Hopefully my body fights it off before it becomes a full blown cold or flu!
Although the food I had at food truck’s last night wasn’t necessarily healthy, yesterday I read that my breakfast was especially healthy – for one reason in particular.
(Sunday’s breakfast)Eggs, avocado, and kale + sausage + toast. Apparently, avocado and kale – nutritious on their own – are a powerhouse of nutrients when paired together. From Idea Fitness:
…pairing a vegetable salad with a source of fat bolsters our absorption of important fat-soluble antioxidant carotenoids such as beta-carotene in carrots, lycopene in tomatoes and eye-protecting lutein in dark, leafy greens like spinach, kale and Swiss chard
Other foods that pair especially well together:
Here’s why! I thought it was pretty fascinating, but then again I’m easily amused
Today I’ve got a core class to teach this morning, and then I’m hoping to squeeze in a hike. Today’s a split shift as far as training goes – I go back in this afternoon/evening for a couple clients. After my last client, I’m meeting my friend for a workout. Here’s a peak of what I have planned for us:
(I hope this is ok, Katie! heh )
Have a great day, my friends!

By far, my favorite flowers are peonies. I find them so gorgeous! Those tacos look delish and super fresh! There are a couple of food trucks that park on my campus, and I’ve always wanted to try this Bahn Mi sandwich. Mmm :).

I love hydrangeas, too! I used mostly hydrangeas as my wedding flowers and even had a hydrangea print on our invites/stationery.

I agree-Hydrangeas are one of the prettiest flowers. I’ve been seeing them everywhere lately, and I’ve almost decided I need to plant some at the house!

I love foo trucks!! How fun you have the right in your neighborhood! I don’t care for sardines but I would NEVER think to mix them with ricotta. I do love ricotta though and eat it straight out of the container with a spoon…

My favorite flower would be circus roses because you hardly ever see them!

I don’t know if I really have a favorite flower! I love bright, fragrant arrangements but don’t always know what’s in them. 🙂
I have a bowl of cereal and milk pretty much every morning. And chicken and carrots make for a delicious soup! 😛

Interesting pairings! One of my favorites is spinach and lemon because it helps bump up my iron intake!

Same reason I love anthurium! They were my wedding flowers 🙂
Mmmmm Salmon & Tomatoes!! Although I think Fat and Veggies = AMAZING combos because you absorb more nutrients from the veggies thanks to the DELICIOUS FAT!!

I probably would’ve gone for those tacos too- YUM!
Oh man- the food pairings. I love stuff like that! I skimmed through the article, and there’s a few good recipes on there too! But, I don’t need another reason to make me want to eat cereal + milk all day…
I love hydrangeas too- and don’t really have a favorite flower. I have to say though, roses are NOT at the top of my list. I like sunflowers, wild flowers, etc… that’s what my wedding bouquet was!

That is cool! blueberries are one of my favourite things to throw in a spinach salad, so I”m covered there. And I love both chicken and carrots, so I’ll have to remember to combine them more often!

For flowers, I love lilies and roses.
For pairs, I have cereal + almond milk + cut up fruits
Greek yogurt + cut up fruits (whatever I have in the fridge)
Have to try the salmon and tomatoes!
For me, the workout you designed looks pretty intense.
