Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Today is a very exciting day, because I’m heading back home to see my family and friends for the first time since moving out to Colorado!
I’m actually going back home for my BFF, Kim’s baby shower, and I’m planning on savoring every single minute. It just might be the only time I go home this year! I’ll only be home for three days, and I’ve got a LOT of people to see, so I think it will be a jam-packed few days.
While I’m super stoked to see everyone, it’s hard to leave Colorado! The weather has been absolutely gorgeous the past couple days this week. Yesterday it was bright and sunny and warm, and today it’s the same and in the 70’s! I took advantage of it yesterday with a couple walks – one with a neighbor friend and one with Niko:
Pretty mountain walk. I hardly ever go for a walk without listening to something, and for the past few months I have been on a podcast frenzy. I listened to them on every single walk – and in the car while driving. In typical Paige-fashion, I’m now completely burnt out on podcasts, and have since moved back to listening to music on Pandora:
Current channel obsession (you know, until I get burnt out again) is the Jason Mraz channel. Luff him!!
While walking I got to thinking about some things I’d like to accomplish this month. I know we’re already 5 days into April, and I normally don’t like to set goals, but this month I decided to change that. I was high vibin’ listening to my tunes yesterday, and was in the mood to set a few goals.
Only check iPhone email 3 times a day (like I mentioned in this post)
Meet a new friend
Do something nice/thoughtful for friends/family back home
Finish The Stand + one more book
Be more organized – everything has a “place”
Go on at least 1 hike a week
Go on two mid-week hikes
Find 2-3 new hiking trails
I think I’ll be able to meet most of these goals, as most of them are fun ones. The one that will be the toughest is, undoubtedly, the first one. That, and the be organized one. I tend to be very organized in certain areas of my life (tracking work via freelance, clients, schedules, etc) and unorganized in other aspects, like my car. It’s basically a gym inside of a car (right, Lauren? haha) I’ll check back in on April 30th and see how I do
Checklist for the day:
-pack
-yoga
-write new workout programs for clients
-one last walk in the CO sunshine
-board a plane to the midwest!
Catch ya on the flip side
What’s one goal you’re currently working on?
Have a safe trip home and enjoy the family time!!!
I don’t usually set monthly goals but this month I’ve found myself really focusing on being FLEXIBLE. And I don’t mean in the sense of stretching (though that is something I need to work on) but with life. There’s some potentially big things happening and since I don’t know exactly how they’ll play out or when, I have to be flexible and patient. Not always easy for this type A planner. 😉
Have a great trip home. We’re set to have nice weather this weekend too (maybe some rain) but warmer than it’s been.

Fun to set goals for a trip home. Never really focus on doing that so short-term but I like it!!!
Also I’m obsessed with podcasts and should probably take a break for music lol. Too much!

They’re actually for the month of April, but I plan to do a lot of work on that reading one on the plane ride home 😉
The Stand is an amazing book!+ Right now, my goal is to take a more relaxed approach to my workouts.

So exciting that you get to go home for a few days! Whenever I go home to Arizona to visit family and friends, it’s like I’m on an adrenaline rush the entire time. There’s so many people I want to see, and I always look forward to my time there. Have fun!!

oh! i hope you’re having fun at home!!! so exciting that you’ll get to see everyone and i can’t believe how time flies since you’ve moved! those are great goals – i wish we had some good hiking places around here – i think one of my major goals is to do yoga at least once a week! i’ve been doing pretty good at this – it’s just when i can’t get to a studio that it gets annoying because i suck at doing it on my own hahaha
Sounds like you are going to have a busy trip. I am new to your blog and am really glad to have discovered it!
I bet it felt really weird to go home- I remember the first time I came back home after going to college and how strange it was (and I was only an hour away!).
I looooove Jason Mraz too! We need to go see him if he comes to town (oooh, or at Red Rocks). I can listen to him all day long.
Your goals are great- and man, I don’t think I could do the iPhone one (though I would love to- and need to!). I’ll be glad to help you check off the hiking one! And find new trails!
No shame in having a “gym car.” I feel ya. 🙂

Great goals! I think I’m going to join you if you don’t mind on the first one 😉
