Some thoughts and discussions from me.
Some thoughts and discussions from me.
I hope not, because while every other single blog out there was recapping their year before the New Year, I was busy completely uprooting my life.
No more boxes! I’m having nightmares of moving boxes tracking me down in my sleep. Luckily, the unpacking was finished last night. Hooray!
No big deal. That’s what the Friday after New Year’s is for, right? Right. So let’s get to it.
This year, for me personally, has had numerous turning points. I usually have one life-changing event per year. This past year, I had a few. Here’s the posts that go along with those events (and also just evoked some serious emotions as I went back and read them:)
1. I quit my project planner job at the BIC (for reals this time)
I was terrified and excited all in the same
3. I went to the mountains in Estes Park, Colorado, and it changed my perspective on…everything
…In turn, I almost quit blogging altogether
4. …but started Your Trainer Paige, instead (from Running Around Normal)
…And then decided to switch up some things in my diet and lifestyle to remedy that diagnosis (still a work in progress)
6. Shane and I went back to Colorado – Colorado Springs this time, and although moving to Colorado was just a pipedream at the time, I was pretty prophetic in the post
7. We learned we were moving to Colorado
8. We moved.
What. a. year. Seriously. There were also some pretty big things in our personal lives that I left/leave off the blog, but it was a great year. Not all good things, but a year to remember. That’s for sure.
I was going to get into blog statistics – most popular recipe, post, searched term, etc., but I think this year was big enough for this post. Plus, that’s not really what matter – or hardly the reason I blog at all anymore anyway. I go days without checking my stats. Honestly, seeing the same readers come back every day and and care what I have to blather on about is what truly matters to me. Being able to have this daily conversation with all of you means so much. So thank you, too, for making this blog-year amazing
Have a great day, my dear friends!
What’s something big that happened to you this year?

I’m with Ashley above – so excited for you and Shane as you step into life in CO! So many transitions and changes for you this year; as always, I love following along and watching God use you and inspire others (both in the gym on your blog). Cheers to 2013 and great recap post, Paige!

I’ve probably had some of the lowest points and highest point in my life in 2012.
Early in the year, my boyfriend at the time stole my car. As a result, I lost my job, my insurance went through the roof, and I really lost myself for awhile.
Eventually I rebuilt myself and ended up dating someone I had really cared about for years. We are now in the process of looking for a home to start a life together. He has a job offer that will move us far away from my current (rather respectable) job. Your first bullet really describes how I feel. I am terrified about having to find a new job, but I’m so excited to be starting a new life!
you certainly had a great year! I am sure 2013 will bring you more wonderful adventures!

I am with you on the whole blog stats thing, after I stopped blogging for a month, I really realized how much I appreciate my every day readers and how unimportant stats are! If you come and listen to my random rambles, you’re pretty darn awesome!

Such a great year for you Paige! I love seeing the awesome recaps of peoples year. Can’t wait to follow more of your journey! I’m the same with blog stats, I don’t really look at all…too time consuming ha;)
That really IS a big, exciting year! So happy for you!
I quit a job I hated, started a better one, moved to DC and got engaged. I think 2012 was officially the year of change 🙂

You certainly had a crazy year with lots of changes…but a great one, too. Can’t wait for 2013! Hopefully we’ll get to cross paths at some point in the year!
And the blog stuff – SO with you. I actually almost NEVER check stats, subscribers, etc anymore. I just blog to enjoy it and let whatever opportunities happen come on their own. I no longer stress over it and it is so freeing!
I just went back and read your earlier posts, and wished I was following your blog long before I did! It’s so funny how we have so many similarities – we both became gym managers right around the same time 🙂 I’m definitely glad you didn’t quit blogging!

Wait, what?! You’re in Colorado now! Geez, pull back from the internet for just a few weeks and a LOT changes! How are you enjoying it so far? I’m just south-west of Denver if you’d ever like to get together – only been here 6 months myself. 🙂

You’re so cute! If I was you, most of my top 10 moments would revolve around moving to Colorado as well. 🙂
My biggest thing? Quitting my teaching job of 7+ years, getting certified as a personal trainer and starting a new chapter! I have a feeling that 2013 has REALLY BIG things in store (and no, they will not include a baby).

This has been a HUGE year for you! I’m so excited for you and can’t wait to see what this year brings you! I guess the biggest thing for me has been getting my personal training certification and starting to really work in the field that I love! It’s actually been a really great year!

That IS big. So happy for you, friend 🙂
So glad you never stopped blogging. I read 3 blogs before I start work and yours is one of them!
Hope your year is full of good health, joy, love and as much/little chaos as you can manage. 🙂
That’s so nice to hear! Thanks, Sandra 🙂
A girl at “Say Yes To Salad” cured her PCOS..no paleo though….
I am thinking of going paleo for major digestive issues, however I know I need to eliminate eggs….make things a ton harder. Also no access to anything antibiotic free …I’m very conflicted. Thoughts?
I definitely can’t give you any advice here, but I do know you can purchase quality organic meats online. Try tropical traditions and US Wellness Meats.
I’m so glad that you didn’t stop blogging. I have recently found your blog and can relate to the “across the country move” with your husband. We are doing that now. We are still living from boxes and plan to fix this within the week : )
Do you find your weekend plans differ any now that you’re in Colorado?
Jenn recently posted…#Giving Tuesday
I have no idea yet – this is only our second weekend here! I presume that they will be much more active though 🙂
What a terrific year! I have been to Colorado several times and every time I visit I say “I could live here.” Such a beautiful state! So jealous of your new adventure out there!
Can’t wait to read more about your new life there!
Absolutely beautiful pictures in Colorado! I hope 2013 is an incredible year for you!
